Customize Required Field in User Query

Requirement:
The requirement is to configure a required field when user performs a custom search in the query mode. For example say we have a Service Request List Applet.
When user prefers to query on this applet we need to ensure that Status Field is a part of this search criteria. If not, then an custom user friendly error message should be popped up saying “Status is a Required field in a Query”

Solution:
Follow the below steps to implement this requirement:
1. In Siebel Tools, query the applet called “Service Request List Applet”. In Applet_InvokeMethod write the below lines of code at the method behind the Go button.

Method behind the Go button is called “ExecuteQuery”.

2. Compile the applet and lanch the client application. Query in this applet without the Status field. You will see the pop error message as below:
